It Started with a Call
Felix learned magic from hotel rooms. As a consultant, he spent 200+ nights a year traveling for business between the US, Asia, and Europe—endless client meetings, conferences, and workshops. A deck of cards was the one thing that always fit in his bag—and the only item customs never questioned. The gaffed decks? Those always got a second look.
Most of what he learned came from Ellusionist DVDs. And a lot of those featured this guy named Adam Wilber. But what struck Felix wasn't just the magic—it was how Adam talked about innovation and product development. Felix's specialty. He remembers thinking: "This guy gets it."
"Just Shoot Him a Message"
As Managing Director of the 360 Innovation Lab, Felix was organizing a startup accelerator pitch and selection event in London. He needed a keynote speaker who could blow minds, inspire the room, and get people to take action.
He found Adam on LinkedIn and completely geeked out. Over 50 products invented. Fortune 500 clients. And—plot twist—one of Felix's favorite magicians.
His wife said: "Just shoot him a message." So he did. To his surprise, Adam said yes.
Something Clicked
The keynote went great. Backstage, Felix and Adam finally met in person. What was supposed to be a quick hello turned into hours of geeking out—about magic, about ideas, about the stuff they wished existed but didn't. The kind of conversation where nobody checks the time.
Adam barely made it home before he picked up the phone.
"How would you feel about taking your skill sets, mixing them with mine, and building the magic company we've always hoped existed?"
— AdamFelix said yes. With one condition: do it right.
